He created a proprietary brand Chivas Brothers and generated the first blended with scotch whisky “Royal Glen Dee. This was shortly followed by yet another whisky the “Royal Strathythan”.

By the early 1900s the economy in the U.S was basically growing and to capture this market the Chivas brothers made the decision to create an aged whisky and it had been referred to as Chivas Regal. In the year 1909 Chivas Regal 25 year old was released and high quality brand and quickly seized the imagination of the Americans. They went on to enjoy amazing success till prohibition put a spoke in the wheel in 1920.

Seagrams decided to buy the Chivas Regal brand in the year 1949 and put into use their enormous marketing and sales network to further promote this top quality whisky. The moment the prohibition was first lifted and the Second World War was over Chivas launched their 12 year old. By now Chivas Regal had turned out to be highly popular and had a large loyal customer base. One of its really popular consumers was first the excellent Frank Sinatra.

The time the 20th century was over they already had 18 year old and 25 year old added to their list. Due to the breakup of the Seagrams Group, Chivas was purchased by Pernod Ricard in the year 2000 and it continues to be with them to this day.

Chivas whisky seems to have consistently performed perfectly and seems to have received various awards and medals at spirits competitions. On the San Francisco World spirit contest it garnered the gold medal in the year 2006 and 2008.
